Honor donors, volunteers, and staff who made the mission possible. This could include photos, highlights, or even a “Thank You” spread after service.

When to Send It
The best time to share your Year in Review Impact Report is mid to late January, once your giving platform data is finalized and your team has had time to celebrate year-end results.
January is naturally reflective — your community is ready to look back at what God has done and look forward to what’s next. It’s the ideal time to thank donors, highlight impact, and set the tone for a new year of generosity.
But your impact report doesn’t have to be a once-a-year touchpoint. Many organizations use this same storytelling format throughout the year to keep donor engagement top of mind.
- Quarterly impact updates help donors see ongoing progress and keep them emotionally connected to your mission.
- A late Q3 report (around September) is especially strategic. It reminds donors of their impact just before the highest giving season of the year.
- Sharing regular, story-driven updates turns one powerful moment of gratitude into a year-round rhythm of engagement.
In short: send your big Year in Review donor report in January, then use smaller “impact snapshots” throughout the year to build anticipation, deepen trust, and sustain generosity.
